Darryl Sutter and former Flames captain Jarome Iginla reunite in Los Angeles

Darryl Sutter and former Flames captain Jarome Iginla reunite in Los Angeles”

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Iginla has produced 1,291 points in 1,535 regular-season games with the Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins and Avalanche.

In order to get back to the playoffs, the Los Angeles Kings desperately need more offense, and there are rumors circling that the team is ready to make a big splash to improve offensively before the trade deadline.

In exchange, LA will be sending the Avs a conditional fourth-round draft pick for the 2018 National Hockey League draft. The 39-year-old has a full no-trade clause, but McKenzie reports Iginla may also be interested in the Kings. They started off the moves by trading for Lightning goalie Ben Bishop earlier in the week, and traded forward Dwight King to the Canadiens for a conditional pick earlier Wednesday.

With the Kings, who were two points behind St. Louis for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, Iginla could have a chance to win his first Stanley Cup.

Iginla, 39, is in the final year of his contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Veteran NHL forward Jarome Iginla is reuniting with head coach Darryl Sutter in Los Angeles. They have battled through the long-term loss of Quick, who was lost during the opening game of the season and just returned to game action on February 25.

In 61 games this season, Iginla has 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists) and a -22 plus/minus rating.

No doubt Iginla will provide something, Sutter may choose to use his sniping skills for the Kings power play which is now in the bottom ten at 24th.

Iginla will debut for the Kings Thursday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
