A Citizens' Petition Calls For A New French President: Barack Obama

A Citizens' Petition Calls For A New French President: Barack Obamaā€¯

But some voters in France want the former US President to run for office - in France. About 500 banners of Obama's face have been plastered across Paris, forcing individuals to visit the petition website.

The slogan reads: "Oui on peut", which is French for 'Yes we can'.

The french are set to elect the new president in April.

The French voters batting for Obama reasoned that he has the best resume in the world to become the President of France and save the nation.

They went on to explain that they took care while planning and setting up the petition to avoid using it to express personal partisan political views.

Le Pen's proposals include slashing legal immigration, deporting illegals, prioritising French citizens for jobs and housing, holding a referendum on leaving the EU (Frexit?), and increasing police size and powers.

As a President, first of all, needs to have certain qualities which are the must, like he must be able to communicate with citizens of France in their language and above all he could not lead France without first becoming a citizen. According to the site's organizers, some 27,000 people have signed the petition so far.

Even though the four campaigners admit it's a joke, they hope it sends a message that none of their current candidates are sufficient. "We started talking about that and it came up that Obama is free - so why not hire him?"

We wish to strike a blow by electing a different president at the head of our attractive country, Barack Obama has completed his second term as the President of United States and why not hire him as president of France? We want people to wake up in the morning and, rather than have to see our usual candidates, rejoice in seeing Obama's face on... If no candidate wins 50 per cent of the vote, the top two go through to a second-round run-off two weeks later.

Polls suggest that Marine Le Pen, the leader of the far-right National Front party, will top the field in the first round, but won't get a majority, CNN reported.
