Oklahoma judge holds hearing on whether EPA nominee violated transparency law

The U.S. Senate voted today to invoke cloture and end debate over President Trump's choice to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, possibly setting up a vote tomorrow for the controversial nominee.

Pointing to the 19 legal challenges the Oklahoma AG filed over various regulations, including eight cases at remain pending, Markey cautioned that Pruitt could use the position of EPA administrator to accomplish the outcomes originally sought in those lawsuits.

Donnelly said in a statement that he "cannot support an EPA nominee who has sued the EPA to stop the sale of E15 and praised the erosion of a policy created to strengthen our energy security and promote Hoosier-grown biofuels".

In particular, she's concerned that Pruitt has quote actively opposed and sued EPA on numerous issues that are of great importance to the state of ME, including mercury controls for coal-fired power plants and efforts to reduce cross-state air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

"And no matter what ME does, unless we address the out-of-state sources of pollution, we can not make the kind of progress that needs to be made", she says.

"Our breweries can not operate without reliable, clean water supplies", the group wrote in the letter. Clement says there are also threats to the park's infrastructure and to predator-prey relationships that could be affected by warming temperatures. Collins is not among them. We've already seen alterations surface on the EPA's climate change site, and critics have expressed worry that bigger, more harmful things may follow.

Pruitt has sued the EPA several times, including over the Clean Power Plan, and has accused the agency of flouting congressional rules and ignoring the desires of states. "Scott Pruitt will not provide that for us, and we need Sen".

Delaware Senator Tom Carper says he personally asked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to delay the vote by ten days in order to give time to review the documents, but was told no.

"As part of your office's report, your office analyzed 3.1 million text messages sent or received on government-issued devices from July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2015, yet found that only 86 of the messages were preserved and archived as a federal record". "Because there's going to be opportunities for her to stand up for ME repeatedly and show her true independence".

The final roll call vote is expected tomorrow from a deeply divided Senate. Susan Collins of ME said Wednesday night she'll vote against the nominee in Friday's final vote, saying he's simply not fit to lead the agency.
