India sets world record with 104 satellites in a single rocket launch

India sets world record with 104 satellites in a single rocket launch”

That number almost triples the previous record of 37 satellites in a single day, which was set by Russia's space agency in 2014.

The main payload of the Wednesday's PSLV rocket was India's Cartosat 2D, a high-resolution earth observation satellite, and two nano satellites, INS-1A and INS-1B.

"India has created history by successfully launching 104 satellites on a single mission, overtaking the previous record of 37 satellites launched by Russian Federation in 2014".

In 2016, it launched 20 satellites in one go but Wednesday's launch was a far bigger challenge.

The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C37 blasted off at 9:28am from the first launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

According to TheTimesOfIndia, the launch was yet another success for the Indian Space Research Organization, which has rapidly gained itself a reputation globally for its successfully effective yet low-priced missions.

Of the 101 foreign co-passengers, 96 came from two US customers; and one each from the Netherlands, Switzerland, Israel, Kazakhstan and the UAE.

Of the 104 satellites, 101 satellites were from global clients. Prior to this flight, the rocket had successfully launched a total of 71 satellites and spacecraft - 31 of which were Indian - into a variety of orbits.

The launch of satellites yesterday "is a special achievement for L&T, as its Aerospace business unit has been closely involved with this historic effort that helped India become the only nation to launch 104 satellites in space in single mission", L&T said in a statement.

Wednesday's dispatch was being observed almost by firms that place satellites in a circle since India's space organization charges significantly not as much as its rivals in Europe and North America, said C. Uday Bhaskar, the chief of the Society for Policy Studies, an open approach inquires about gathering situated in New Delhi.

Replying to a question, he said USA firms approach ISRO for launch of smaller satellites as the frequency of PSLV launches was more by India.

The technological apartheid against India has been an issue for India's science and technology establishment from the Cold War period. It is an incredible step for the country's space programme. "This remarkable feat by Isro is yet another proud moment for our space scientific community and the nation". "It offers food for thought for other countries". It says that as a rising power, it has done a good job. The Global Times article mentions that India's space technology still lags behind that of United States and China and has not yet confirmed a complete system.
