Donald Trump Hits Hollywood At Women's March, Rejoices Over Inauguration Ratings

Nielsen reports 30.6 million viewers watched his inauguration Friday.

Ronald Reagan topped the leader board with 41.8 million watching his first inauguration in 1981.

According to the data, Fox News had the largest television audience of 8.4 million viewers between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. NBC averaged 5.8 million viewers, ABC 4.9 million and CBS had an audience of 4.6 million.

Almost 31 million viewers watched live USA television coverage of Donald Trump's presidential inauguration, far fewer than tuned in to Barack Obama's first swearing-in, but otherwise the biggest such audience since Ronald Reagan entered office, ratings firm Nielsen reported on Saturday.

Nielsen didn't factor in online streaming, so viewership of the inauguration might have been even higher.

He backed up his statement by falsely claiming that 420,000 people used D.C. Metro public transit, compared to 317,000 on the day of Obama's 2009 inauguration.

Nielsen may also report a total audience number for US cable and broadcast networks.

You may have already read that Trump's press secretary, Sean Spicer, came out for his first press briefing to deliberately lie about attendance figures at Trump's inauguration, citing what he called "false reporting" on the subject as there wasn't any available data on the topic.

He also wrote about television ratings for his inauguration Friday, bragging that they were higher than those from Obama's four years ago.

According to multiple photos, Trump's crowd attending the inauguration was significantly smaller than Obama's 2009 crowds. "Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got "swamped" (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT", the then-president-elect tweeted.

By those numbers, Trump ranked a ninth, with a 20.1 rating.
