JonBenét Ramsey's brother is suing CBS for $750 million

The older brother of JonBenet Ramsey is suing U.S. broadcaster CBS and others for $750 million over a television series that concluded he killed his sister.

At the conclusion of the CBS series, a panel of experts concludes that Burke Ramsey, who was nine years old at the time, killed his sister by striking her with a flashlight. Six-year-old JonBenet was found in the wine cellar of the Ramsey's Boulder, Colorado home on Christmas in 1996. She died from a blow to the head and strangulation.

Burke Ramsey's legal action said he had been "exposed to public hatred, contempt and ridicule" following the series.

Burke Ramsey's lawsuit seeks compensatory damages of $250 million and punitive damages of $500 million. Burke Ramsey and his parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, were cleared of the crime by a Boulder prosecutor based on DNA evidence in 2008. Today, People reports that Burke Ramsey has gone forward with that claim, asking for $750 million in damages from the network, as well as the production company that produced the show.

Now, TMZ reports that Mr. Ramsay, 29, is going after CBS as a whole, and has filed a suit in MI court against the network for $500 million in punitive damages and $250 million in compensatory damages.

The district attorney now overseeing the case has said it was premature to exonerate the family and has ordered additional tests using new DNA technology.

"The accusation that Burke Ramsey killed his sister was based on a compilation of lies, half-truths, manufactured information, and the intentional omission and avoidance of truthful information about the murder of JonBenét Ramsey", the lawsuit says.

And even though the network "stands by its broadcast", Burke is still taking CBS to court for a second defamation lawsuit!
