Trump picks fast food executive Andrew Puzder for Labor

President-elect Donald Trump's prospective cabinet is already cluttered with controversial characters, and his rumored choice for labor secretary is no exception.

On Thursday, Donald Trump revealed that he's tapped fast food tycoon Andy Puzder to serve as Labor Secretary in his administration.

Puzder heads CKE Restaurants Holdings, the parent company of Carl's Jr., Hardee's and other chains. Puzder is an ideal pick to reverse this overzealous regulation because he understands that economic freedom and a light regulatory burden are the best ways to improve the job market, grow the economy, and raise wages. "He opposes raising the minimum wage, threatens to replace restaurant workers with machines, has consistently opposed long-standing rules that protect workers and law-abiding employers and demonstrated that he prizes corporate welfare and profits over workers' well-being".

In 2010, Mr. Puzder co-wrote the book Job Creation: How It Really Works and Why Government Doesn't Understand It, in which he helped provide a framework for instilling strong optimism among USA businesses that will create millions of new jobs. Pudzer has also said that raising the minimum wage does nothing to break the cycle of poverty for the working poor.

She said Puzder: "hit me in the head, pushed his knees into my chest, twisted my arm and dragged me on the floor, threw me against a wall, tried to stop my call to 911 and kicked me in the lower back". Cutting overhead isn't rocket science.

Puzder has been a critical of government regulation.

To build on his dystopian hypothetical: If Andy makes 291 times more than Sally - let's call it $4.458 million in 2012 - what thread count must his sheets be for him to be able to sleep at night knowing that Suzie's out of a job? He also opposes the recently-delayed Labor Department rule that aimed to make millions more workers eligible for overtime pay. "Mr. Puzder's career has shown exactly the opposite".

While generally opposing reproductive rights, Puzder has defended the practice of using women's bodies to sell fast food products.

A racy ad featuring a bikini-clad Paris Hilton washing a auto while eating a Carl's Jr. burger debuted in 2005. I have seen numerous positive character traits in Andy while working with him at Carl's Jr.as a restaurant owner and franchisee for the past 13 years: he is solid on his word, honest in his approach, and very driven to overcome whatever challenges may come his way. "And I rarely thought that was true, but I think this one, in this case, it kind of did take on my personality". So the question now becomes: What is he willing to do for the American people?
